Ad essere sincero mi aspettavo qualcosa di piu’ dal nuovo “catastrofico” film di Roland Emmerich, “2012″, uscito venerdi scorso nelle sale cinematografiche.
Ho senza dubbio apprezzato gli effetti speciali, per lo meno l’originalita’ delle scene apocaliptiche, non tanto la loro qualita’. La trama invece, seppur provi a dimostrarsi appassionante, viene puntualmente interrotta da battute ben poco avvincenti ma soprattutto da un estenuante susseguirsi di coincidenze troppo impossibili che finiscono per aiutare i protagonisti a ritrovarsi con imbarazzante semplicita’ sulle pendici del monte Everest dopo aver dovuto abbandonare una California ormai sprofondata nelle acque dell’oceano.
Inizio ad essere stufo di queste trame esagerate, tratto distintivo di uno stile hollywoodiano che sembra ormai puntare troppo spesso solo al divertimento e alla visione piuttosto che ai “veri” contenuti. Avrei di certo preferito uno spunto piu’ realistico nonostante l’immaginario tema della fine del mondo.
Chiudo con una nota che mi ha fatto sorridere.. A quanto pare nel film il nostro Presidente del Consiglio decide di non assicurarsi (alla modica cifra di 1 milione di euro, spiccioli) un posto sulla spaceship destinata a salvare il genere umano decidendo alla fine di morire da eroe nella catastrofe. Beh, considerando il modo con cui si tiene saldamente stretto alla poltrona e ai suoi privilegi (questo vale per l’intera classe politica) credo sia un altro spunto della storia davvero ben poco realistico..
UPDATE 9/12/09 – A proposito dell’ultimo commento, PolisBlog ha giusto riportato qui in merito ad alcune reazioni avutesi nelle sale cinematografiche italiane durante la visione del film.. e che dire del sondaggio proposto? 
I certainly appreciated the special effects, at least the originality of the apocalyptic scenes, not so much the overall quality. The plot tries to be convincing but it is regularly interrupted by bad jokes and mainly by a grueling series of impossible coincidences which end up helping the protagonists to even reach the slopes of Mount Everest after they had to abandon a devastated California swallowed by the ocean waters.
I have to say I’m getting tired of these exaggerated plots, typical of a Hollywood style which too often seems to focus only on entertainment and vision rather than on “real” contents. I would have preferred a more realistic approach despite the fictional theme of the end of the world.
Just the last note about something which made me smile .. Apparently in the movie our Italian Prime Minister decides to not buy (at the modest sum of 1 million euro) a seat on one of the spaceships built to save the human race and therefore die as a hero in the world disaster. Well, considering the way he firmly holds his chair along with his privileges (this applies to almost the entire political class) I think this is definitely another very unrealistic evolution of the story narrated by the film..
